      What is a computer?

A computer is a device (hardware) that can use logic circuits
and appropriate programs (software) to perform calculations,
process digital tasks or control processes.
Computers include not only traditional mainframes,
PCs and notebooks, but also smartphones,
      tablets and ATMs, for example,
because all of these devices have been programmed
      and can process data electronically.
This also applies to components of household appliances,
such as control units of washing machines or vehicles.
The digital tasks that a computer does include processing text,
images and sound, accessing the Internet and storing data.
Computers can also communicate with other computers
using certain hardware and network protocols.

Computer is made of 2 components namely:
      Hardwares and Softwares:

      - Hardwares
Hardwares are the non - programable aspect of a computer System
or best described as any physical component of a computer system

      The motherboard

What is motherboard in a computer?

The motherboard is the backbone that ties
      the computer's components together
at one spot and allows them to talk to each other.
Without it, none of the computer pieces,
such as the CPU, GPU, or hard drive, could interact.
      Total motherboard functionality is necessary
for a computer to work well

Computer Hardware can be groupped into Two:
      1. Internal and 2. External Hardware

      - internal hardware - hardware found inside a computer

      CPU (central processing unit). Drive

      Softwares

      What is a Computer Software?
Software is a collection of instructions and data
that tell a computer how to work.
This is in contrast to physical hardware,
from which the system is built
      and actually performs the work.

In computer science and software engineering,
      computer software is all information
      processed by computer systems,
      including programs and data.
      Computer software includes computer programs,
      libraries and related non-executable data,
such as online documentation or digital media.

Computer Software can be classified into 2 catergories:

      system software and application software

      Application software
is a computer software package that performs a specific function
directly for an end user or, in some cases, for another application.

      Examples of applications include:
word processors, database programs, web browsers,
development tools, image editors and communication platforms.

      system software

programs operate in the background and do not
directly interface with the computer user.
System software manages the operation of a computer.
System software is a type of computer program that is designed to
run a computer's hardware and application programs.
      The operating system(OS)--
is the best-known example of system software.
The OS manages all the other programs in a computer.
System software is used to manage the computer itself,
      It runs in the background,
also maintain the computer's basic functions
so users can run higher-level application software
      to perform certain tasks.
system software can also include software development tools
(like a compiler, linker or debugger)

Difference between system software and application software

System software and application programs are
the two main types of computer software.

an application software (app or application for short)
-- performs a particular function for the end user.

Application software is triggered by an end user
after the computer is turned on.
System software is triggered when a computer or device is turned on,
and it remains on until the device is powered down.
Application software needs system software to function
while system software can run independently of application software.

examples of application software include the following:

      web browsers
      email clients
      word processors
      spreadsheets

      4 Main Types of Software:
      1. Application Software. ...
      2.System Software. ...
      3.Programming Software.
While application software is designed for end-users,
and system software is designed for computers or mobile devices,
programming software is for computer programmers
and developers who are writing code. ...
      4.Driver Software.

      Computer case

      The computer case is the
      metal and plastic box that
contains the main components of the computer,
      including the motherboard, central
      processing unit (CPU),
      and power supply.
The front of the case usually has an
On/Off button and one or more optical drives.
      Computer cases come in different
      shapes and sizes.
A desktop case lies flat on a desk,
and the monitor usually sits on top of it.

A tower case is tall and sits next
to the monitor or on the floor.
      All-in-one computers come with
      the internal components built into
      the monitor, which eliminates
the need for a separate case.

      Monitor

The monitor works with a video card,
      located inside the computer case,
to display images and text on the screen.
Most monitors have control buttons that allow
you to change your monitor's display settings,
and some monitors also have built-in speakers.
Newer monitors usually have LCD (liquid crystal
display) or LED (light-emitting diode) displays.
These can be made very thin, and they
      are often called flat-panel displays.
Older monitors use CRT (cathode ray tube)
      displays. CRT monitors are
much larger and heavier, and they take up
      more desk space.

      Keyboard

The keyboard is one of the main
ways to communicate with a computer.
There are many different types of keyboards,
but most are very similar and allow
you to accomplish the same basic tasks.
